More about JAX Cafe

JAX Cafe is located on the grounds of the B&B, right next door to the Inn. JAX serves amazing breakfasts to the inn guests and to all those stopping by, as well.  A special treat, besides the coffees, teas, and food, are the paintings. One of the featured artists at JAX is good friend, Eric Reaves, former long-time illustrator of Garfield and current artist for syndicated Hi & Lois cartoon. A must-see is the original Rembrandt that Eric adapted for the Cafe.

For early risers, we have coffee, tea, and a morning paper waiting for you starting at 6:00 am. Service for a full breakfast normally begins at 7:00am.  We serve everyone when best fits your schedule; guests are asked to write down requested times and any other special needs.

JAX is a key third space for me. Besides a great place for serendipitous socializing, it also is where some of my most recent books have been edited, criticized, reformed or trashed. It’s what literary friends do, including Jack. Gotta love the place and the owner–and he’s also a first-chair musician.   Jerry Pattengale: author Jerry Pattengale serves as executive director of education at the Museum of the Bible (Washington, D.C.) and university professor at Indiana Wesleyan University (IWU)
